  • Our second KipPod started it's journey in February of 2022. Using the same steel shape as it's sibling, we adjusted the roof line and kept the steel frame visible from the inside.

  • The pod is clad in salvaged timbers from Wingfield, and our circular window was created from a fibreglass drain pipe, providing the perfect picture frame to view the ever changing Coorong landscape.

  • The windows were chosen to create airflow up the sides of the pod, allowing what's known as the 'Coorong Doctor' by locals to work its magic - the 3pm breeze off the Younghusband Peninsula. Designed to connect you with nature, we hope you feel relaxed and refreshed following your stay.

We call it a 'DIY Nature Retreat'

A new concept in retreats our DIY nature retreats are designed not to tell you how to rest, but to create a space where rest becomes inevitable.

A place where nature’s beauty, quiet surroundings, and thoughtful touches give you the permission and tools to truly pause and recharge. Empowering guest to take home with them new tools to cope with modern life.

Coorong Life isn’t just a destination - it’s an invitation to rediscover your personal peace and permission to rest.

What's a 'KipPod'?

KipPod {noun} Kip English slang for sleep, Pod referring to its cosy small size.

The logic is simple - we want you to feel as faraway from normal life as you can, the large porthole window is the centre piece to the design with the bed facing the water view's inviting you to rest.

Happy Visitors

Kate’s Kip Pod was exactly what I needed during the school holidays for some alone time with my dog, nature and a good book. The view from my comfortable bed was beautiful and it was lovely to walk around the Coorong and watch the birdlife. The pod had everything I needed and I loved the fire pit outside.

Coorong.life was an amazing destination that I would highly recommend for people who are wanting to get a quiet and relaxing get away. My partner and I also felt very accommodated by the hosts, Kate andTim, during our lovely stay surrounded by the beautiful life of the Coorong

What a magical weekend at the Coorong. The host made sure everything was perfect. The setting was breathe taking. Such amazing bird life, I have never seen so many pelicans. A wonderful place to switch off. I will definitely visit again and will recommend to friends!

— Renee W.

No better place to disconnect from the city life. Off the grid tiny house a stones throw from the water. Quality features inside make the adjustment easy. Kate and the pups were also brilliant hosts. Stayed for three nights but wish it was more!

— Shaun W-J.

Sunsets, wildlife, ocean, birds, serenity... memories made with lifetime friends.
Thank you for the outstanding hospitality Kate. I can’t wait to come back!
