We understand things pop up at the last minute and plans can change. If you provide more than 2 weeks notice via email (comebe@coorong.life) we will help you to find a new date.

What if I have to cancel? What’s the refund policy?

If you provide at least two weeks notice we will refund your stay with a 10% processing fee. Alternatively, you may wish to gift the stay to a friend on the same dates. If you need to cancel within 7 days we’re unable to offer a refund.

Can kids come?

Our KipPod experience is best enjoyed by adults. Our KipPods are fitted with a queen bed for one or two, perfect for those seeking a solo escape or a weekend away with a partner or friend. For those seeking a location the whole family can enjoy, we suggest looking into other great accommodation providers on the Coorong.

Can I bring my dog?

PROS: We love our furry friends at Coorong.Life and are happy for you to bring them with you, as long as you’ve emailed us in advance. We have two resident dogs — a chihuahua and dachshund — so require your dog to be comfortable with other animals. We also ask that your dog is with you at all times and never left alone on the property or in a KipPod.

CON: If you had planned to visit ‘The Coorong National Park’ area you cannot have your dog with you. Just a note if you’re happy to walk on our private property it’s all good. Smaller/ medium dogs suit the size of the KipPods.

Accomodation & Facilities

What is a KipPod?

Unique to Coorong.Life, our KipPods are custom built spaces. ‘Kip’ relating to sleep and ‘Pod’ relating to the size — it’s an experience like no other.

What’s provided in the KipPods?

Our KipPods come with a Koala queen mattress, two pillows and beautiful linen thank to our friends at Kip & Co and Pony Rider. You’ll also be provided with two towles and  Pony Rider yoga boosters. Dishwashing liquid, hand soap and a few essentials such as salt, pepper and oil are available in all kitchen areas. You can store your bags in the large draws under the booth seating, approx. 40cm (w) x 1m (d). We suggest soft canvas bags.

What should I bring?

Outdoor Clothing (incl. wind/raincoat), sunscreen, hat, food, shoes (we love the barefoot lifestyle, particularly along the sandy Coorong waters, but shoes are quite handy for bushwalks).

Do the KipPods have an ensuite?

The KipPods are designed for sleeping and light cooking only, and aren’t fitted with bathrooms to minimise the environmental impact. Shared toliets and showers are located within metres of the KipPods.

What about power?

Each Kipod is fitted with South Australian owned Redarc solar systems and lithium batteries, with multiple USB and USB-C charging ports for your phones, laptops and cameras. You are welcome to download the Redarc Manager30 App to control your KipPods’ external lights. If you need to use something on 240v plugs, visit the shared space under the main lodge.

What’s there to cook on?

Each KipPod has a two burner gas stove top, rain water (cold only) and plates, pots and pans. BBQ pits and firewood can be provided for outdoor cooking at an additional cost. If you’re an avid camper feel free to bring along your own kindling and wood, we will supply matches and a few starters, we don’t supply axes for safety reasons. If you’d like access to a full kitchen, you’re welcome to use the shared kitchen under the main lodge. Perhaps offer to share a meal with your Coorong neighbours… the more the merrier!

Is there a fridge in the KipPods?

Our KipPods are fitted with an 85L bar fridge. We have an onsite Studio Shop with some deli items available to purchase should you get peckish, or our closest town Meningie is only 15 minute away by car. Check out our Friends page to see what the town has to offer.

We offer a variety of add ons to enhance your stay such as coffee, journals, lanterns to customise your experience, which you can view at the cart stage or in the email you get post-booking.

What do we do with waste?

Your general waste bin can be emptied at the main lodge as required. Paper, cardboard, and bottles/cans can also be recycled at the main lodge.

Coorong.Life is off grid, meaning we rely solely on our beautiful rain water. You can drink from all of our taps, however please be mindful of only using what you need.

Coorong.Life runs on a septic system and we advise that you use natural body products where possible. If you are interested in swapping  to natural products check out our range of selfcare products available via our Shop page.

Is there wifi?

We don’t provide free WIFI. To connect with the rest of the world, we use phone data.

Can I smoke?

There’s no smoking inside the KipPods. If you’re smoking outdoors, we ask that you respect the natural environment and discard of your waste responsibly.

The Region

What is there to do?

Our Philosophy at Coorong.Life is ‘nature is the real  luxury’. With our lives becoming increasingly busy, many of us work to live and live to work. We would like to give you permission to focus solely on relaxing and reconnecting with what makes you, you. A few of our top suggestions include: regular naps, cooking an outdoor meal, enjoying the outdoors with a walk along the properties’ 5km of remote Coorong beach frontage. Paint, sing, practice yoga, dance, read, write, breathe! Check out our KipPod Extras for some DIY retreats enhancers.

The weather doesn’t look great - what do I do?

The Coorong is magical even on rainy days. Billy Connolly put it perfectly when he said “I hate all those weathermen, who tell you that rain is bad weather. There’s no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing, so get yourself a sexy raincoat and live a little.”

Can I swim in the Coorong?

Yes! It can be very shallow out the front, but if you’re up for a dip nothing is stopping you. We encourage you to bring your kayak or canoe to explore more of the Coorong waterway, or your stand up paddle board for calmer days. For safety reasons please let us know if you’d like to trek to the sand dunes in the Coorong National Park. As it’s a full day’s effort, we would hate for you to be unprepared. Mobile service is available with Telstra, however it’s SOS only on the beach side of the dunes.
