I never truly believed I could be an artist. I was raised by my father, a “business man,” and in his eyes, art could never be a safe or reliable way to make a living. He wanted security for me, and so I stepped into the world of business, learning how to sell, build networks, and support myself.
But deep down, I always felt I had more to give than just my ability to sell.
When I became a single mother, everything shifted. I needed to provide not only for myself but for my beautiful baby girl. That’s when I discovered a fulfilling career as Business Development Manager for a graphic design and construction company. I loved every minute of it, which eventually led me into shopfitting — traveling across Australia, networking, and managing projects.
That experience gave me the confidence to take on my boldest project yet: building the KipPods here at Coorong Life. With the help of an architect friend, I poured myself into every detail — dreaming about how each space could feel, how it could connect people to nature, and how creativity could live in the design. I’m proud to say I project-managed the build myself, with a lot of help, heart, and vision.
Now, I’m stepping into the next chapter: embracing myself as an artist. My photography and art are the natural continuation of this journey — another way of sharing what Coorong Life means to me. This is more than a project; it’s an expression of my story, my creativity, and my hope that others can find inspiration in nature, just as I do.
Thank you for caring enough to read this, and for being part of this next stage of the journey.
